We Have Added UnitedHealthcare Global U.S. Network for Many of Our Plans

We've got great news! As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best service and pricing for you and your clients, we're adding the UnitedHealthcare Global U.S. Network for many of our plans starting June 1, 2016. This change will ensure pricing is as competitive as possible. In addition, your clients will also receive:

  • Instant Brand Name Recognition - Providers in the United States will quickly and easily identify the UnitedHealthcare network, so there will be no questions about providing treatment.
  • Access to a large number of medical providers across the United States:
  • 843,006 physicians and other health care professionals
  • 5,645 hospitals
  • 1,800 convenience care facilities
  • Freedom of Choice - Your clients can seek treatment from any health care professional or facility in the network without a referral and without choosing a primary physician.
  • Electronic Claim Submission - UnitedHealthcare will submit claims to us through their current electronic submission process. This will enable us to receive and respond to claims quicker.

Who Receives the UnitedHealthcare Network?

Retail Plans
The following retail plans will utilize the network in the United States, beginning June 1 for new purchasers: Liaison International, Liaison Continent, Liaison Majestic, Liaison Student, Student Express, Wander Frequent Traveler, and Green Cover. As members on these plans renew, they will be moved to the new network.

Group Plans
Group medical plans will gradually be moved to the new network, and you will be notified before a group is moved. Trip cancellation, evacuation, major medical, and indemnity type group plans will not be moved to the new network.

Next Steps
No action from you or your clients is required at this time. We will provide ID cards to new and renewing members with UnitedHealthcare's electronic claims processing information, as well as a link to the network search tool.
