We hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving. Below are a few fun facts about this popular holiday and an update on our schedule for this time. 

A Little History
As the story goes, the first Thanksgiving was celebrated in Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1621. Over 200 years later, Abraham Lincoln declared the last Thursday in November as a National Day of Thanksgiving. Then, in 1941, Congress declared the fourth Thursday in November as a national holiday.  
To Grandmother's House ...
Many people travel over the Thanksgiving holiday. Did you know the average long-distance Thanksgiving trip is 214 miles?

What about the Turkey?
Turns out, no one really knows if turkey was served at the first Thanksgiving. It did not become a staple for the meal until the mid 1800s!   

Thanksgiving at Seven Corners
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Seven Corners Assist will continue to be open as usual. However, administrative offices will be closed Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25.
