Good News - Travel Predicted to Increase in 2017

Make sure you're ready for it!

If you need some good news for 2017, consider UNWTO's latest World Tourism Barometer. Released in January 2017, it indicates that a strong demand for international tourism continued through 2016, even with challenges throughout the year.

  • International tourist arrivals grew by 3.9% to reach a total of 1,235 million.
  • 46 million more tourists (overnight visitors) traveled internationally in 2016 compared to 2015.
  • 2016 was the seventh consecutive year of sustained growth following the 2009 global economic and financial crisis.

Experts remain optimistic about 2017.
The latest survey of UNWTO’s Panel of Experts shows continued confidence for 2017, with 63 percent of the 300 respondents expecting 2017 to show improvement over 2016.

This is good news for anyone involved in travel insurance. As consumers continue to learn more about the need for protection while traveling, and as they continue to travel more, the need for trip protection and travel medical products will continue to grow.

Seven Corners Company Launch 2017
Be the Difference & Go for the Moon!

On February 9, Seven Corners held an all-company meeting to discuss our continued journey through our roadmap for the future, entitled “The Seven Corners Apollo Project," which began in 2015. All 212 employees were present (some physically remote but certainly there in spirit). 

The theme for 2015 was “ignite,” followed by “liftoff” for 2016. Naturally, “go for the moon” is our focus for 2017! Employees were surprised to see the lounge decorated with a mural of the moon, and of course, Moon Pies for snacks.
