Why Sell Travel Insurance? 
Now more than ever is the time to ramp up your travel insurance sales. Thanks to the consumer data from UStiA's Travel Protection Market Survey 2014-2016, we have learned this market is growing with no plans on stopping. Below are some survey highlights. 
In 2016 …
  • Americans spent nearly $2.8 billion on all types of travel protection, an increase of 19.1% from 2014.
  • 32.3 million travel protection plans were sold by UStiA member companies. This is an increase of 28.5% from 2014.
  • Approximately 42.6 million Americans were covered by a travel protection plan purchased from a UStiA member company. This is an increase of 23.7% from 2014.
So what kind of products are consumers buying?  
In 2016 over 87% of travel protection products purchased were trip cancellation/interruption packages. Travel medical and medical evacuation products accounted for 7.8% of total consumer spend on travel protection.
