The Adventure Team Explores Mexico and Grand Cayman

Adventure Team | Mar 23, 2017

Welcome to the wonderful Amanda Spaulding to the Adventure Team! Amanda recently took a group trip to Cozumel and Grand Cayman. Check out her story!

My sister and I take multiple trips together a year, every year we try to include as many friends as possible in our travels to not only share the experience with, but for many to introduce them to foreign countries for the first time.  This year we traveled with 16 friends and family members to Cozumel, Mexico and Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.

Our first stop was Cozumel, one of our favorite stops for a beach day while cruising.  During our first cruise in 2005 we stumbled across an all inclusive “beach break” that limits the guest size to 50 per day.  The limited guest size allows us plenty of crowd free beach and pool access, and guaranteed empty swim up seats for adult refreshments.

We arrived at Grand Cayman the next morning,  another day of fun in the sun was planned – Jet Skiing & Boating!  Originally we were to have a pretty packed day with time on a Catamaran in the morning and jet skiing in the afternoon.  As I have learned through my many adventures, plans can change unexpectedly and with little notice.  We arrived at the dock we were advised the Catamaran was experiencing mechanical issues and we would not be able to board.

Thankfully, we received a full refund and our driver escorted us to a local beach area with Jet Skis available for rent – so we hopped on!  During the adventure I may have raced a friend and spotted a few sea turtles, it was a great afternoon of fun (and I still claim I won the race).

Although I do look forward to my next cruising adventure in August, I am equally as excited for my “girls trip” beach adventure to Aruba in May!
