It’s no secret that holiday travel has become synonymous with stress, and if you were in the stuck in the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport power outage, we’ll go so far to say a total nightmare.
However, for those of you who purchased travel insurance there is some good news! It won’t make you magically arrive at your destination on time, but it will add some more holiday spending cash back in your wallet.
Seven Corners offers trip protection plans to help in situations just like this. One benefit, Trip Delay, pays you a daily fee for additional transportation, meals, accommodations, and non-refundable, unused prepaid expenses if you are delayed en route to/from your trip.
You must be at least 100 miles away from home to utilize this benefit. Also, depending on your plan, there are certain triggers that activate the benefit. In this particular scenario, any delay of a Common Carrier that is certified by the Common Carrier at claim time is an acceptable trigger. This just means that you would just need to give us proof of the delay.
To see the full list of coverage reasons for Trip Delay, please reference your plan document.
If you purchased RoundTrip Economy:
With this plan, we’ll reimburse you up to $100 a day with a maximum of $250 if you’re delayed over 12 hours.
If you purchased RoundTrip Choice:
With this plan, if you are delayed for 6 or more hours we will reimburse you a daily fee of up to $300 until the maximum of $600.
If you purchased RoundTrip Elite:
For delays of 6 or more hours, we will pay you up to $300 each day you’re delayed up to $1,500.
If you’ve found yourself in this situation (we’re very sorry) and you purchased a trip protection plan with Seven Corners (hooray!), filing a claim is easy.
