This is the amount of time you have from the date of your injury or illness to receive treatment. If your plan terminates during your benefit period, You will still be eligible to receive treatment if the Treatment is within your benefit period and outside your home country. Each injury or illness shall receive one benefit period.
If you break your leg on January 1 while on your trip and covered by the plan, you have 180 days from January 1 (until June 30) to receive treatment for your leg. If your plan ends on June 1, you still have until June 30 to receive treatment for your leg if you are outside your home country.

J-2 visa holders and their dependents can be covered by the Seven Corners J Visa Compliance Travel Medical Insurance plan if you are temporarily residing outside your home country.*
Also, the J-1 visa holder must remain engaged in full-time educational or research activities during the time you're covered by this plan. The J-2 visa holder and/or their dependents are eligible as long as the related J-1 visa holder remains in official status.
Dependents include the primary insured person’s spouse and natural or legally adopted unmarried children over 14 days and under 21 years of age. Spouse is your legal spouse, legal domestic partner, or legal civil partner, if not legally separated or divorced, as determined by the applicable governmental jurisdiction where the legal union is sanctioned.
*What is my home country and why do I have to be outside it to be covered?
Your home country is the country where you have your permanent residence.
All travel medical insurance plans require you to be outside your home country to be covered. The J Visa Compliance Travel Medical Insurance plan is no different. You are covered while you are in the United States and if you travel elsewhere. If you return to your home country, you are not covered.

Outside of the United States — Seven Corners has a large international network of providers, and many of them have agreed to bill us direct for treatment they provide. We recommend you contact us for a referral, but
you may seek treatment at any facility.
Utilizing the network does not guarantee benefits or that the treating facility will bill Seven Corers direct. We do not guarantee payment to a facility or individual until we determine the expense is covered by the plan.
The J Visa Compliance Travel Medical Insurance plan is competitively priced with a daily rate for each person that is determined by age.
The total cost of the travel insurance plan will vary depending on how long you are in the United States. When you use our Quick Quote tool, you’ll receive your pricing.
A lower deductible will increase your daily rate, and a higher deductible will reduce it.
Our plan offers three different deductible options that meet the J Visa travel insurance requirements: $100, $250, and $500.
Once you complete your online purchase, you will immediately receive a receipt, a summary of your benefits, an ID card, and a copy of the plan document.
The plan document is the legal document that explains how your coverage works and describes all benefits and exclusions. We recommend you read it, so you understand your J Visa Compliance Travel Medical Insurance plan.
Coverage Length — You are required to buy a minimum of 5 days and may buy a maximum of 364 days.
Effective Date — This is the start date of your plan. Coverage begins on the later of the following: 1) 12:00 a.m. on the date after we receive your application and correct payment if you buy online; 2) The moment you depart your home country; or 3) 12:00 a.m. on the date you request on your application.
Expiration Date — This is the date coverage ends on the earlier of the following:

Extending Your Coverage — You can extend coverage as long as you remain eligible for the plan. Eligibility requirements include the J-1 visa holder remaining engaged in full-time educational or research activities outside their home country.
If you initially buy less than 364 days of coverage, you may buy additional time, from a minimum of 5 days to a total of 1,092 days (three 364-day periods). We will email you an extension notice before your coverage expires, giving you the option to extend your plan. A $5 administrative fee is charged for each extension.
When we receive your payment for the extension, we will extend your plan’s expiration date.
Your original effective date is used to determine determine pre-existing conditions.
The J Visa Compliance Travel Medical Insurance plan is in excess of all other valid and collectible insurance. If at the time of loss there is other valid and collectible insurance, we are liable only for the excess of the amount of loss, over the amount of the other insurance and applicable deductible. Recovery of losses from other parties does not result in a refund of premium paid.

It’s any medical condition, sickness, injury, illness, disease, mental illness or mental nervous disorder, regardless of the cause, including any congenital, chronic, subsequent, or recurring complications or consequences related thereto or resulting therefrom that existed with reasonable medical certainty when you purchased the plan or any time during the 12 months before the coverage began, whether or not previously manifested, symptomatic, known, diagnosed, treated or disclosed. This specifically includes but is not limited to any medical condition, sickness, injury, illness, disease, mental illness or mental nervous disorder, for which medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment was recommended or received or for which a reasonably prudent person would have sought treatment during the 12-month period immediately preceding the effective date of this plan.
Pre-existing conditions are not excluded from coverage for these benefits: Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation, Emergency Medical Reunion, Return of Child(ren), Return of Mortal Remains, Local Burial or Cremation.
