The benefit can cover expenses to transport you to the nearest place of safety or to your primary residence, if you must leave your trip for a covered reason listed in the plan document.
Also, the evacuation must occur within 14 days of a covered event, and Seven Corners Assist must make all arrangements.
We will pay if, while on your trip, a formal recommendation in the form of a Travel Advisory or Travel Warning from the U.S. State Department is issued for you to leave a country you are visiting on your trip due to:
- Civil, military or political unrest; or
- Your being expelled or declared a persona non-grata by a country you are visiting on your trip.
This benefit is not available if a formal recommendation like a Travel Advisory or Travel Warning from the U.S. State Department is issued for a country before your arrival there or if a country is listed as an excluded country before your arrival.
Excluded countries include: Afghanistan, Chechnya, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iran, Iraq, Israel West Bank, Israel Gaza Strip, Ivory Coast, Lebanon, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, or any country subject to the administration and enforcement of the U.S. economic embargoes and trade sanctions by the Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC).
