How RoundTrip Travel Insurance Works

Once you complete your purchase, you will immediately receive a receipt, a summary of your benefits, an ID card, and a copy of the plan document. The plan document is a legal document that explains how your coverage works, including a list of exclusions. We recommend you read your plan document, so you understand how your RoundTrip plan works.

Length of Covered Trip

The maximum length of a trip that can be covered by our plans is 90 days. Note: There is an additional charge for days 31-90.

Who Can Buy a RoundTrip Plan?

The plan is available to U.S. residents up to the age of 99 years.

You can buy coverage for a one-way or round trip.

Where Can I Travel?

You are covered when traveling inside and outside of the United States. See the Warnings tab to learn about destination restrictions.

How do I Find a Medical Provider if I am Sick or Hurt on my Trip?

Inside the United States — You may seek treatment at any medical provider you wish.

Outside of the United States — Seven Corners has a large international directory of providers, and many of them will bill Seven Corners direct for treatment they provide. We recommend you contact us for a referral, but you may seek treatment at any facility.

Utilizing the directory does not guarantee benefits or that the treating facility will bill Seven Corners direct. We do not guarantee payment to a facility or individual until we determine the expense is covered by the plan.

Are Pre-existing Conditions Covered?

Pre-existing conditions can be covered on the same basis as any other sickness by RoundTrip Choice if you meet the requirements below. They are not covered by RoundTrip Basic.

We will waive the Pre-existing Medical Condition exclusion if all of the following apply:

  1. You buy this plan within 20 days of the date your initial trip payment or deposit is received; and
  2. You or your traveling companion are medically able and not disabled from travel when you pay for this plan or upgrade your plan based upon the assessment of a Physician; and
  3. You update the coverage to include the additional cost of subsequent travel arrangements within 15 days of paying your travel supplier for them.
What is a pre-existing condition?

It’s an illness, disease, or other condition during the 60 days immediately before your coverage begins for which you or your Traveling Companion, Business Partner, or Family Member scheduled or booked to travel with You:

  1. received or received a recommendation for a test, examination, or medical treatment for a condition which first manifested itself, worsened or became acute, or had symptoms which would have prompted a reasonable person to seek diagnosis, care or treatment; or
  2. took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine. (This number 2 does not apply to a condition which is treated or controlled solely by taking prescription drugs or medicine and remains treated or controlled without any adjustment or change in the required prescription throughout the 60 days before coverage begins);
  3. Change in prescribed medication means the dosage or frequency of a medication has been reduced, increased, stopped and/or new medications have been prescribed due to the worsening of an underlying condition that is being treated with the medication, unless the change is:
    1. between a brand name and a generic medication with comparable dosage; or
    2. an adjustment to insulin or anti-coagulant dosage.
Primary and Secondary Medical Coverage

The Trip Medical Insurance* in the RoundTrip Choice plan provides primary coverage, and the Trip Medical Insurance* in the RoundTrip Basic plan provides secondary (excess) coverage.

Excess Insurance Coverage

Insurance provided by our plans is paid in excess of all other valid and collectible insurance or indemnity (except for Emergency Accident & Sickness Medical Expense for RoundTrip Choice) or as required by state law. If at the time of the occurrence of any loss payable under our plans there is other valid and collectible insurance or indemnity in place, we shall be liable only for the excess of the amount of loss, over the amount of such other insurance or indemnity, and applicable deductible. Recovery of losses from other parties does not result in a refund of your plan cost paid.

Refund Policy for Travel Protection Plans

14 Day Free Look Period

If You are not satisfied for any reason, You may cancel Your plan within 14 days from the date of purchase by providing Us or Our authorized representative the cancellation notice. We will refund Your plan cost paid provided there has been no incurred loss; You have not departed on Your Trip or filed a claim under Your plan. When so returned, all coverages under your Plan are invalid from the beginning.

RoundTrip’s plans provide emergency medical coverage for accidents and illnesses that occur on your trip.

Emergency Evacuations

Our RoundTrip plans include an Emergency Medical Evacuation benefit that covers expenses to transport you to the nearest medical facility where treatment is available if you incur a sickness or injury that is acute or life-threatening during your trip.

Calculator Trip Cost
Confused about calculating your trip cost?

We ask for your trip cost when we provide a quote for coverage, and it should include nonrefundable expenses for airfare, a cruise, hotel, entertainment, excursions, house/condo rental, and other similar expenses.

It’s important to know how to calculate the cost of your trip for travel insurance.

Calender Time to buy
When should you buy travel insurance?

It’s best to buy your plan as soon as possible after you make your first payment or deposit for your trip. Why? Certain benefits such as Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR), Interruption for Any Reason (IFAR), and the Pre-existing Condition Waiver are available only if you buy your plan within the specified time.
