What is Travel Insurance?
May 21, 2018
Did you buy travel insurance only because your best friend’s mom’s cousin told you to? Or are you a savvy traveler who knows better than to leave home without a travel insurance plan? Either way, you’ll find it helpful to watch this short video about the ins and outs of travel insurance.
Travel insurance is designed to protect you in a variety of ways when you travel.
Seven Corners has two main types of travel insurance plans: trip protection plans and travel medical insurance plans.
Both provide access to our international network of medical facilities and 24/7 multilingual travel assistance, so you can always access our team if you have problems while traveling.
Trip Protection Plans
Trip protection plans reimburse you for non-refundable, prepaid trip costs such as airfare and hotel rooms, if you need to cancel, interrupt, or delay your trip due to various covered reasons; including weather, sickness or death, to name a few. Trip protection plans also help if you miss a cruise or tour connection or if your luggage is lost, stolen or damaged. In addition, they provide coverage for emergency medical expenses and emergency medical evacuations.
Travel Medical Insurance Plans
Travel medical insurance plans protect you if you become sick or injured on your trip. These plans cover a wide range of medical expenses, including emergency medical evacuations, political and natural disaster evacuation and under certain guidelines, coverage for terrorism. They also offer deductibles as low as $0 and medical maximums as high as $5 million. These plans also include lower level benefits for loss of luggage and trip interruption.
Travel insurance is an essential facet of any trip and choosing the right plan for your needs is important. If you’re traveling soon, feel free to go online to sevencorners.com or call our sales department and they can help find a plan for you!
