A travel medical plan provides a wide variety of medical benefits and emergency services that are important if you become sick or hurt on a trip outside your home country. Seven Corners offers this coverage through our Liaison Travel Medical series.
A travel medical plan covers medical expenses for an injury or illness that occurs on your trip. You need this protection because your home health insurance may not follow you on travels abroad. And, if it does, it often covers only life-threatening emergencies defined by your health insurance company, and their definition of an emergency may not match yours.
Medical providers in foreign countries may require you to pay before they will treat you. Seven Corners’ Liaison series includes an international medical provider network with many providers who have direct pay agreements with us, so you won’t have to pay upfront for care.
Travel medical plans also cover emergency medical evacuations. If appropriate medical care is not available in your location, we will arrange and pay to transport you to an area with the care you need. Without a travel medical plan, you may have to pay from $500 to $200,000 for an evacuation. You’d also have to arrange this evacuation and find an appropriate medical facility. With a Liaison travel plan you won’t need to — we’ll take care of it!
The Liaison travel plans also provide additional emergency services including political evacuation, natural disaster evacuation and coverage for an injury due to a terrorist event.
And finally, when you are far from home facing a difficult situation, there is no substitute for a helping hand. Our multilingual travel assistance team is available to help you 24/7.
